I'm Yuqi, an architect-turned-product designer with 4 years of experience in product design, based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I believe in using design as the power to pursue the social good. I enjoy working on nonprofits projects:
SF 826 Valencia - 2022
Collaborated with high school students, designers, and artists to design a reading room for under-resourced students at SF International High School.
New York City Mayor's Action plan - 2018
Teamed with Columbia professors, artists and designers to explore public space activation solutions for areas of high criminal activity.
I enjoy making connections and having meaningful conversations that lead to 'Aha moments' and sharing stories to inspire others.
I help write interviews and develop visual branding for China30s.com, which is an online magazine that documents the portraits of China's innovative minds and their breakthroughs.
I have published 5+ exclusive interviews that received 10,000+ likes on social platforms.
In 2012, with support from Tongji University and my professor Jeff Ding, I took the lead in founding China's first Fab Lab (Maker Space), which shares university resources, connect with the industy and promotes digital and personal fabrication for all age levels.
My journey involved launching the website and social media platforms that allow sharing open night information, booking 3D printers, and accessing online courses to promote the maker environment.
I also recruited the team from 1 to 200 volunteers. With this experience, I had the honor of being one of the selected speakers at TEDx Youth in 2014.
